Friends of Honley Library People

We value all contributions to Friends of Honley Library. Our current trustees are:

Jenny Lockwood

Jenny leads the Board. She is a retired Chartered Librarian and is an active and long standing member of FoHL. Formerly a senior officer of Kirklees Council Cultural Services, she has extensive experience of managing community buildings. She has an in-depth understanding of leading charities and is a former Justice of the Peace.

Ann Brooks OBE

Ann is the Chair of Friends of Honley Library Management Committee. She is experienced and respected in early years education and care, with a sound understanding of working within regulation, policies, processes and of people management gained as a former Chief Examiner in early years education, education inspector, head teacher and now partner in a local business.

Sean East

Sean is a member of the Holme Valley Parish Council representing Honley West. As an experienced parish councillor, he is adept at building consensus across party politics and has a good understanding of the needs of the wider Holme Valley area. An active member of FoHL, with strong local connections, he has been part of the working group taking forward the asset transfer of Honley Library to HVPC.

David Hutchinson FCA

David’s financial expertise includes audit, investigations, taxation, risk analysis, systems controls, corporate governance, grant raising and finance. A retired partner of a big 4 accountancy practice, he has part-time financial roles with SMEs and is a trustee of various family trusts and local organisations.

Nick Helm

Nick has lived in Honley for over 14 years and is active locally with a number of sports bodies where he and his children variously play and coach – Huddersfield RUFC, Honley CC and Holmfirth Harriers. He is a solicitor specialising in infrastructure and PPP projects. He is also a trustee of Honey CC.

Malcolm Ellis MBE FRICS

Malcolm is a Chartered Surveyor and retired Partner of AHR. He has trustee of Honley Cricket Club for some years and is also a school governor. He has been key inadvising and supporting on all matters relating to the development of the building and its ongoing development.

Geoff Winterbottom

Geoff is a Honley resident and a qualified accountant. He is currently employed as Head of Research and Policy at a local government interest organisation based in Barnsley. He has worked in local government finance since 1999, having filled a number of finance roles in the private sector up to that date.
