A book about loss, grief, homelessness and walking the south-west coastal path.

The Thursday Reading Group found this book to be uplifting, easy to read, great descriptions and particularly liked their encounters with people on their journey – the good, the bad, the confusing and the downright rude. There were themes of friendship, loss, grief, family, how easy it is to just drop of the radar and keeping going in the face of uncertainty, as well as the health angle.
There were elements of humour when Moth kept being mistaken for Simon Armitage, of grim drudgery (the pain, the lack of money, the rain) and rays of sunshine (when they busked at St Ives).
It was rated from 3/10 and every number all the way to 9/10, averaging 6/10. Some found the writing lovely, like poetry. Others found Raynor to be a ‘Moaning Minnie’. One person felt it was “an endurance walk that became an endurance read” and couldn’t put it down but another commented “I felt really immersed in the beauty of the coastal path”.
