Much of this we took to be based on fact, but changed to simplify the historical systems especially with regard to the Underground Railroad, described by the author as an actual railway but in fact a network of people helping escapees. A mixture of adventure story and historical account and analysis of an economic system, it gave rise to a wide ranging discussion.

We scored the book on average 7/10.
