Exciting New Volunteer Roles at Friends of Honley Library

We are delighted to announce that we are recruiting for two new volunteer roles at Friends of Honley Library.

This is a fantastic time to join our friendly team of volunteers FoHL as we are currently embarking on an ambitious project to extend and enhance Honley Library, creating more space for learning, improving access, and reducing our energy costs.

Whether you are looking for a personal development opportunity or to pursue a particular interest, these roles are a fantastic opportunity to give something back to your local community.

Volunteer Secretary to the Trustees

This is a new role which will provide support directly to our friendly Board of Trustees ahead of and at their quarterly meetings. It is anticipated that the role will require approximately 4 hours per month but this may vary slightly.

The role will include:

  • Preparing agendas
  • Collating and circulating supporting papers
  • Minute taking

Volunteer Social Media Manager

We are looking for someone to join our team to take over the management of our social media accounts across Facebook, Instagram and X. This is a fantastic personal development opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in social media marketing. It is anticipated that the role will a maximum of 1-2 hours per week but this may vary.

The role will include:

  • Working with a small team to promote the activities of FoHL across our social media accounts
  • Creating events, engaging posts and stories to promote our ongoing activities
  • Sharing updates and thank you messages across FoHL social media accounts
